Box Hill North Kindergarten children are very fortunate to participate in the Learn Languages at Kindergarten Program, helping children to get the best start in life by giving them the opportunity to learn and play in another language. 

Learning an additional language promotes brain development and literacy skills, amongst other benefits. The children enjoy songs, games and stories as they learn about the Japanese language and culture.

They can be seen participating enthusiastically and it is evident that their young brains are extremely active during Japanese time. Martin Sensei  leads a stimulating play based program, capturing the children’s interest in learning the language of Japan.

The 4-year-old kindergarten groups have access to two hours of Japanese learning and fun each week. One hour is a structured lesson on a particular topic, the other hour is integrated Japanese language into the children’s daily learning and play. It is most definitely a highlight of the program for our kindergarten children.
