Meet the Teachers

Being a part of the Box Hill North Kindergarten community is something I am most proud of.  I enjoy being a part of the lightbulb moments in children’s learning and creating a space where each child feels heard and supported. I have a Bachelor of Education (EC), and a Bachelor of Music. Outside of kinder, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and dog, as well as singing and playing piano.

I am in my 10th year of teaching kindergarten at BHNPS. My favorite part of
my job is developing relationships with children and their families. I enjoy supporting kinder children to discover their identity and how they fit into the world around them and most importantly how to treat others with respect. Outside of kinder I enjoy being in nature; beach, bush or mountains going on adventures with family and friends. Spending time in my garden, reading and being around animals makes me happy.

I joined Box Hill North Kindergarten in 2015. In my career I’ve taught 4 year old Kinder and Pre-Prep but teaching the 3 year old group is my absolute favourite. I love being part of their learning journey and watching children develop independence, confidence, kindness and curiosity in the world around them. Being part of a wider school community provides a special experience, where everyone belongs. Outside work, I love being creative and making things from fabric, paper or clay as well as spending time with family and friends.

I love our community for its positive, caring and sense of inclusion.  I have a Diploma in Early Childhood, and have been a part of Box Hill North Primary Kindergarten since 2016. There are very strong relationships between staff and families.  Outside of school I love spending time with my dog Max and spending time with friends and family.

It is both wonderful and inspiring to be part of such a positive, nurturing community; surrounded by supportive families, curious and delightful children, and a truly exceptional team of educators. With more than 15 years of experience in early childhood education, I’m passionate about giving 3‑year‑olds the very best start to their kindergarten journey. When I’m not at Kinder, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, getting lost in a good book, or painting on canvas.

I’m grateful to work across all levels at Box Hill North, supporting children with their learning. I’m happy when I see children that I’ve supported smile when they realize that success is all of their own doing. Out of hours, I love walking my two cheeky dogs, Milly and Charlie.

Sharing my love of Japanese language and culture with students is the highlight of my day. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and develop skills beyond the Japanese classroom. Our staff are fun and supportive, and I especially love being greeted daily with enthusiastic smiles and a cheerful “Konnichiwa!” from students. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I especially love being by the water, whether having coffee, kayaking, or reading a book.
